I’m very late to the podcast party, but I’ve become ridiculously obsessed. I listen to my favourite podcasts when I’m doing housework, putting on make-up, driving, or just lounging around. While I listen to quite a lot of podcasts, these few are my absolute favourites and, if you’re also new to the podcast game, they each have dozens of episodes to catch up on. So pop those earbuds in and get listening.
These girls are the best. I have my best friend to thank for introducing me to Becca, Keltie and Jac. These gals are hilarious and so down to earth. I mean, I really didn’t expect there’d be so much talk of bodily functions, but I love it because it’s like sitting down with your closest girl friends every week and just dishing all the dirt. It may not always be politically correct, but listening to this podcast I have found the most amazing gang and real community through the associated secret Facebook group. I met up with some gorgeous ladies in Sydney as a result of this and know I have some amazing new friends. These are the girls I turn to for everything, both good and bad and I can’t explain how amazing it is to know the LadyGang has my back. I love these episodes and find something inspiring in them every week.
Emma Gannon’s Ctrl Alt Delete
This podcast makes me do amazing things. I find massive inspiration in every single episode and I love it. In fact, it was this podcast which pushed me to finally make a decision on going back to uni. Seriously, if you need a bit of honest, positive and fun inspiration in your life, get on this immediately! The podcast features a range of guests from radio hosts, vloggers and bloggers, to writers and comedians. And, of course, get your hands on Emma’s debut book of the same name.
Chat 10 Looks 3
If you’re familiar with the ABC in Australia, I’m sure you’ll at least recognise Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb. I’ve always admired their work as journalists, but have absolutely fallen in love with them through this podcast. I’ve got so many book and television show recommendations which I’m sure I’ll never be able to actually get through. The only problem with this podcast is listening to it usually makes me deliriously hungry as Sales and Crabb discuss the most amazing recipes (half the time they’re usually eating in the background). Also, this is perfect if you’re a fan of the occasional show tune, with Sales performing some great new takes on musical classics. The only downside to getting addicted to this podcast is that episodes are published irregularly, understandably because Crabb and Sales are working pretty damn hard.
Jules and Sarah The Podcast
These two are the BEST. I found them through Sarah’s interview with Emma Gannon on Ctrl Alt Delete. Since I had a massive backlog of episodes to catch up on, I usually listen to them in the morning while I do my make-up and hair for work. It is the perfect way to start the day. I challenge you to listen to this and not fall in love, and laugh out loud (which can be awkward when I’m trying to do a brow). Jules and Sarah got me through some incredibly sad times at the end of last year and never fail to make me laugh. They’re also absolutely brilliant with interacting with fans and are always so lovely on Twitter and Instagram with their #portsalutcrew.
